The End of Year Book Survey is hosted by Jamie @ The Perpetual Page Turner

Best YA book 2013

1. Best Book You Read In 2013? (If you have to cheat — you can break it down by genre if you want or 2013 release vs. backlist)

Twice Tempted by Jeaniene Frost - There was just so much wrong with this book. And I loved the first one so much so it was a huge disappointment.

3. Most surprising (in a good way!) book of 2013?
Terra by Gretchen Powell - I loved this book and it came as a total surprise to me since. I had no idea it would be this good.

4. Book you read in 2013 that you recommended to people most in 2013?

Girl with Guitar by Caisey Quinn - I've been raving about Girl with Guitar and Caisey Quinn all year. I'm sure my bookish buddies are sick of it by now.

5. Best series you discovered in 2013?
The Lunar Chronicles by Marissa Meyer - It took me almost a whole year since I bought Cinder to read it and then it took my several months to also read Scarlet after that. Needless to say I could've kicked myself to the head.

6. Favorite new author you discovered in 2013?
Amber Belldene - Her Blood Vine books are amazeballs!

7. Best book that was out of your comfort zone or was a new genre for you?

Tears of Tess by Pepper Winters - I haven't really been reading out of my comfort zone this year. But a genre I didn't read a lot and started to read more in 2013 was new adult and Tears of Tess (as well as Quintessentially Q) was a more darker book than other NA reads

8. Most thrilling, unputdownable book in 2013?

Cinder and Scarlet by Marissa Meyer - I read these books so fast and they were both equally good!

The Scientific Revolution by Robert Freeman - Really all his One-Hour History books were great but this one had the greatest impact on me for sure.

Cinder by Marissa Meyer - I'm still mentally slapping myself for waiting so long.

15. Favorite Passage/Quote From A Book You Read In 2013?
When I was much younger, I sometimes imagined that the sky was an illustration in a book that we were all nestled safely between the covers, and that if I could only find the book and open it, we would all escape without having to fight the Gentle Lord. - Cruel Beauty by Rosamund Hodge

Shortest: Ghost Writer by Nick Wisseman - 17 pages
